Being Brave...My Megasquirting Buy/Mod Thread
Well...Al Hounos talked me into it...here is a list of what I'd like to buy with links could you guys tell me if this is right?
MS1 V3 Complete:
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...unit-p-56.html
Serial Tuning Cable:
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...thru-p-35.html
GM IAT Sensor:
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/o...tail-p-62.html
I'll prolly pick up the LC-1...not sure yet, I'm AM going to get a wideband though:
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/i...nsor-p-41.html
What random things am I missing, where can I pick up the extra parts to do the mods?

I'm letting Brad (Newbsauce) be a guinea pig for MS. He should have his sometime in 2-3 weeks. Then we'll both play around and then when it works I'll do the same in spring. I'm just stretched thin right now with the clutch and rear otherwise I'd do it now as well.
Good Luck.

Thanks.
Once I get my rear and clutch finished, I'm ordering it.
I've got the clutch in my room, the money for your flywheel already set aside and some credit for the rear end and busting my *** at work while attempting to pass college. I should have this stuff ordered and here by late Feb/early march...and done by mid march for my birthday .

all you're doing is putting in a few resistors and wires.
and for your other questions... the lc1 does have two outputs, yes you can hook up a gauge later if you really want to. I had very limited soldering experience when I did mine. Just practice soldering wires together for a little while.
but go ahead and read every thread in this forum, especially the stickies and the threads towards the beginning. you have to know what you're doing and why before you start.

Hey, I got a ?
The AFM is deleted so is their no measure of the air entering the engine? The IAT just measures the temperatrue of the air coming in and it used to richen/lean as necessary to avoid pre-detonation but it does not measure air flow?

MiataMania, couldn't you save some cash by doing a V2.2 rather than a V3.0? I read through the FAQ on DIY's site and it says the only big differences are the ability to run low-imp injectors and the resistance to botch-ups.

Also, see if you can get them to send you a tip132 or whatever it is. It can be installed on the board to allow idle control. Even more, Al was able to get boost control working on his setup.

Ok sorry i shold have been more specific. i was refferring to a resistor that can be soldered in to allow idle control with megasquirt. Apparantly its not too difficult to do and theres probably a writeup thats been done sometime over the last year or so aobut it. Also, i was wrong in saying its TIP132, its actually TIP122. You might want to search our forums for that term to find more info about it.
