EGR VSV - Normally closed?
Does anyone know if the EGR VSV is normally closed? It appears the VICS VSV on my '99 head swap ('96 block, Megasquirted) is not working. I push 12v to it manually and it does not switch. My VICS is permanently open which is fine above 5k RPM, but I'm missing out on some torque below that.
So since my EGR system is blocked off I'm considering just wiring the EGR VSV up to control VICS.
It'll be a while until I can actually lay hands on it myself. I'd love to go ahead and pick up a different VSV proactively if the EGR one isn't going to work properly. That's where the braintrust of MT.net comes in. Anyone have some insight?
