Default Data Log Lab is Now Free

I have no personal experience with how useful it is as I haven't even started my car up yet using the link keypad, but I thought this was worth sharing.

I guess it would be even better if there was a ready supply of serial link connectors.

I'd start making the serial connections cheap if I had a wiring diagram

It looks like it was taken down off the Flyin Miata site :( Does anyone have another source or is it gone forever?

I doubt it was intentionally taken down, more likely it just got dropped when they redesigned the site. I'd suggest emailing Keith at FM and ask him about it.

Look up, you'll find a link to someone who does in this very thread. There's also a link to a wiring diagram so you can build your own.

The Link->USB box was pretty rare, and was just a SerialLink with an onboard USB converter. No, we don't have the SerialLink anymore.

Prop cat. I had tried finding the key generator, but it was not there a few months ago. We just put a link in my friends car so this is perfect. I think the Link>USB may have issues with windows 7 though, we will be trying a winxp laptop soon.

My friend has the actual USB Link. I will poke at it and see if I can get it talking.

The serial link works fine, just get a USB-Serial adapter and you're good to go. Windows still has no problem seeing serial ports and communicating with them. There's huge amounts of industrial equipment out there running on serial connections.

You may have to experiment a bit to find an adapter that works properly, but the process is generally quite easy.

IIRC, the USB Link is just a SerialLink with an onboard USB converter.
