3.308
I already posted on Bill's Facebook. I really hope he can get 15 in on this deal, and that it goes this time. My car would finally be complete with a set of 3.308's

Already in touch with Bill. I may buy a few sets and put them on the shelf if he gets close but can't bridge the gap. If that happens, the markup won't be small, so get yours now
If I didn't already have a 3.63 waiting to go in I would definitely be in. How much power do you need to put down for this to be faster than a 3.63 with a 6 speed? I imagine it is a lot considering the 3.63 needs something like 300rwhp before it is faster than the 3.9 on the track, correct?
I spin in 1st, 2nd and a lot of 3rd. If it's a choice between being able to put power to the ground and speedo gears, I'll pick power any day. If I have to, I'll get a GPS speedo (or just tape the popular speed limits over my current speedo, lol)

Well, so much for a tease on FB…the cat's out of the bag now.

My plan is for a 3.3:1 R&P to become an on-the-shelf MiataRoadster catalog product that, after the initial GB, will be readily available at a higher price point than the GB. I will have an exclusive on it with the manufacturer and I'll be happy to talk wholesale with dealers, if any are interested in carrying it.
To make it happen initially, the manufacturer needs 15 paid-in-full orders to amortize setup costs. There would be a 90 day turnaround time for the first batch to come in, then there would be a constant availability.
From the response to the tease on FB it seems at least the 15 takers are out there. Of course, we'll see how many actually put their money where their mouths are.
I'll start a GB thread soon when I'm prepared to accept orders. In the meantime, feel free to contact me to express interest at Bill@MiataRoadster.com.
I hope we can make this happen, as some of you are aware it's been a pet project of mine since at least 2008.
Thanks for your interest!

If you guys are super worried about speedometer, would something like the YellowBox not work?

I'm sure there will be a random source or something that can be hacked together to make the correct speedo gear. Its just a freaking little piece of plastic, there's probably a hobby gear that only needs the inner hole changed with a dremel to make it work with the sender.
Whats the chance that these are going to be stronger than the stock gears? People are going to see this who were going to the 7.5 or 8.8 for the ratio and the strength and would come back to the miata diff if they could get both. If the gears are stronger you can make everything else in the rear end stronger with the crush sleeve eliminator, MSM OSG, and MSM axles.

ABS plastic from a 3D printer would probably not be stable enough in the elevated temps in the gearbox. But who knows, it might work.
A speedo gear for 3.6 will not be very off (it will read 9% low).
