Hey all,
Since my Miata was totaled over here: https://www.miataturbo.net/media-53/...totaled-81499/
I think the next logical step is to get a chassis and build an engine over the winter. Nothing crazy, probably just a normal rebuild + forged rods/pistons.
Anyway I'm looking for someone to point me in a good direction to learn about engine building, I've been looking over some articles but it seems most of them focus on pushrod v8's. While I'm sure a lot of the info carries over, I'm looking for info focused more toward DOHC i4's obviously.
Any help is appreciated.. books/pdfs/articles etc would be great.

if your lucky you might have a local Community college with an auto program that teaches things like this and you get to use all of their equipment. I'm starting to take classes early next year.

I've seen a few of Bogus_SVO's posts - I'll check out the other ones.
I'm looking into a few books on Amazon.
This one looks like it covers the engine as well as other repairs:
