Default OBDII with Turbo kits

So, its been a while since i initially looked at going FI on my 2001 miata, What all would be needed for me to pass OBDII,

My plans are to go FBO mods, with a turbo or SC kit. I know the FFP supercharger will pass OBDII with no issues, but i think i'd like to see bigger numbers than 200-240HP. We have no E85 around me so realistly with that kit i think i'll be getting 210 on a perfect day, so long story short, i'd prefer to get a turbo kit so i can see closer to 275-300 HP. It looks like my options are to go with a hydra to run all that, but in my state they are lame and require an OBDII computer inspection, so how do i get around that?

On my 335i I can just flash back to stage 1, or 0, and use a thing that tricks the pc into thinking it still has a cat and that its perfect. But with the miata I have not seen any way to do something like this using a simple quick reflash to stock and most kits seem to use some aftermarket computer management system on the miata vs the stock one.

That solution doesn't exist for the na or nb platform, our ecu doesn't allow it. Your best bet is to build a system where you can revert closer to a stock configuration and swap back in a stock ecu when it comes time to do emissions testing. It's really not all that much work to do every few years as needed. Swap the stock computer and injectors back in, wire open the wastegate, drive until your readiness monitors are set, and have the car tested... then swap the aftermarket ecu and injectors back in (I've simplified things a bit)

Can't flash it, but you can still use piggy backs. Obviously not optimal, but they can work in an acceptable fashion if you really can't swap over for emissions reasons or just don't want to etc. They'll never be as good, but folks made them work for years on a street car. You just need all the **** that goes with it and the understanding that you'll always be frustrated.

What for? It will be like BMW cars with working blinker lights. A complete waste of resources...
