Default SF Bay Area JRSC M45 Guru needed.

New Noob here looking for some assistance. I have inherited my brothers 95M that he put the JRSC kit on many, many, years ago and since he is no longer with me I can't ask him what was done nor how it is tuned. Looking for someone in the San Francisco Bay Area that is really knowledgable with the JRSC M45 kits and would be willing to take a looke at my setup.

Seems to be running really well and I'm not having any real issues other than a slight boog until some boost is made at lower rpm's.

Did a major service on the car as it had been sitting for a few years. All fluids changed, coolant, motor, tranny, diff oils, new plugs one colder than stock, new NGK wires, new UNI air filter, fuel filter, flushed and bleed brakes and clutch. Fixed a few minor oil leaks, CAS o-ring, valve cover gasket. New SC belt and it does not seem to be slipping as there is no rubber dust on the snoot of the SC.

What I really would like is for someone in the know take a look at this cars setup and give it there blessing more for my piece of mind than anything.

TIA

all the people that considered that setup good died 20 years ago

the stumble/bog is because it's running on a power card

I was poking around this evening looking at everything. I do have the original JR install manual that came with it. Looks pretty much as laid out in the manual. Wouldnt the power card be mounted back by the ECU behind the passengers seat? If so nothing there. I did find a J&S individual cylinder knock sensor module under the carpet up in the passengers footwell.

Also someone gave me an old JR power card but have not put that on. Should I, is it worth it?

Shoot Twibs415 a message... it's possible he has some free time to give your car an inspection.
And options for what to upgrade/etc. if the mood strikes.

If it really is THAT old, it may not even be controlling additional fueling electronically through a piggyback. AFPR maybe? Post a pic of the powercard, many versions, adjustable of course a little better. Non-adjustable tended to run rich just to cover all user scenarios. the older ones usually benefitted from an O2 clamp.

Here a few pictures I took last summer. Done a bunch more detail cleaning and fixing little things for the better.

Check your manual again regarding the wiring of the boost sensor in the dummy throttle body. Follow the wire from that sender, and you'll probably find some relay wiring with a diode in it. Will probably be next to the fuse box. You'll have better luck searching by the term "Sebring" rather than "JRSC" based on the age of the kit. I think that tricks the car into dumping more fuel.

Also try pinging board member, "rmcelwee" who runs the site lightweightmiata.com with a lot of old Sebring Supercharger info. He can probably help you figure out the fueling solution.

Thanks Runninonempty. I checked the JR manual and looked at my setup and that is type of fuel enrichment I have. You can see the relay in the picture above on the passenger side just in front of the fuse box.

I have this power card pictured below. Should I install it and disconnect the current original fuel enrichment electronics?

And here is the engine bay currently. A little more cleaned up and my home brewed TrackDog copy air filter and relocated cruise control diaphragm.

Get rid of the bandaids, buy an ecu megasquirt/hydra?, problem solved!

If your worry about CrAppy Smog, install your old bandaid for smog and return back to ecu.

There's a hydra for sale as we speak in the fs section.

That Powercard is the first gen. It'll be better than what you have now, but pretty much any electronic fueling solution you pick nowadays is going to be a big upgrade from that, because they're all adjustable to an extent now. But for free, yeah, I'd do it. This forum heavily encourages Full Standalone ECUs, but a lot of us still use piggybacks/band aids. Just depends how much time or money you want to throw at something.

Sorry for being such a Noob but should I disconnect what I have now completely and hook up the power card in its place?

Replace your radiator. Brown end tanks means the plastic is weak and will crack.

I believe 95s in CA just get a sniffer test as well right? If it is just a sniffer I would get a MS.
