The weight of the stock 5spd compared to the "complete" Jerico/Bell Housing is basically the same.
Would you happen to have a bathroom scale to put it on before you bolt it to the engine?

I'll have to modify the tunnel some obviously but hopefully not to much.

For reference, I'm putting a T101a in my RX7 right now, which I presume has a wider tunnel than the Miata. It took about 2" of clearancing the tunnel with a BFH, mostly near the top of the tunnel, and will require that I use an offset shifter arm. The Jericho's exterior dimensions are pretty close to the T101a. Keep in mind that when Nascar first introduced the COT, that shifter offset was enough to make them go to a center rail trans so they could move the driver another inch or two inboard.

I think I will be joining you on this adventure, though with a 5.3 truck motor. They are awesome bang for the buck transmissions!

I just wish there was a way to put the shift linkage on the passenger's side

I have a RHD shell that you can use to do that.

Does it also have a RHD BP motor where the exhaust is on the other side?

Now your just being picky. Im not sure why you would want the exhaust components the same side as your brake and clutch masters anyways.

No I want it on the opposite side as the shift linkage on the t101a. Even if you can make the pipe clear it, that heat cant be good for the rod ends in the linkage.

Unfortunately, you're right. The availability has been trending south and the cost of a good unit has been steadily climbing. I had one built for me, and it was the guy's last core (and he was the builder for the Childress cars for several years).

After some basic mock ups, it looks like the Jericho shifter is going through the parking brake location. Guess that makes deleting the parking brake an easier decision now.

I ended up cutting more than expected out of tunnel to fit in the RX7. Shifter setback plays an important part. Shorter you are, better off you were in my case. I had mine come up right through the middle (front to back measurement) of the shifter hole, but ended up cutting about a 6" strip out of the trans tunnel to clear the Hurst setup. Also had to remove the factory crossmember mounts on the RX7 tunnel to clear the linkage itself.
