Default can a b2000/2200 bellhousing be mated to a miata 6 speed?

i ask because i am considering an fe3 swap and i read somewhere that the 6 speed wasn't designed by mazda, does it still have the same removable bellhousing as the 5 speed? this seems like the easy way out as opposed to doing a TII drivetrain swap for whp just south of 300. then of course there is always the adapter plate option...

sounds like you read my question over at miata.net regarding the kia version of the FE-DOHC engine. you should read the links (if i'm mistaklen about you reading the post here are the two links that were provided. Solomiata : Interchange : FE3 motor FE DOHC ) the first one explains why the 90-93 gear box is the one you have to use, and as long as ur not drag launching the thing all the time you shouldn't blow it up.

if i didn't read it before, i just read it now; my understanding was that the 5 speed gets to the "oh ****" level at about 250whp. if i am wrong please correct me.

I'm on my second Miata 5 speed. My goal is to run a turbo II transmission since they're readily available and cheap.

Aren't the gear ratio's in the TII tranny kinda funky? Does it bolt up to our cars OK?
