Who wants to buy my assembled torsen with cryo'd, rem'd 3.6 r&p?
Chpmnsws6 sell me your rear
I knew you were the closet MT homo....God knows where you stuck that sawzall after you hacked up your car....
I'd definitely be in for a reasonably priced group buy on 3.63 or 3.308s, I just can't see shelling out $600+ for a ring and pinion.

If you want 3.63s, they're available in junkyards for cheap (if you can find one), or you can buy a brand new set from Mazda for $5xx. That's about it, though.
If OS Giken ever gets off their *** and builds a diff for the Ford 8.8, I'll switch to that.
I know these are less then Sav needs, but Detroit makes a torsen diff for the 7.5 and 8.8 for those who are happy with normal old torsens.

I'm a ---- hair from a 7.5" Ford with a 3.27 and a truetrac. 2k rpm on the highway at 65mph is still too high.

After watching dtfastbear's LS1 car lay a single stripe through T2 at Infineon using a normal V8 locker, I decided that the only way I'd buy a Ford 8.8 would be with an OSG.
Here is another option. I just bought an open diff with a 3.636 R&P from ebay.au for $193 with ~ 40k miles. I'm still waiting on the shipping price. I may just have the guy pull the gears if it's too much. I want the center piece though as mine has seen better days. I'll just reuse the torsen out of my current diff. More expensive than the mazda 626 option, but it was less hassle. It came out of a 2002 titanium grey car. All of these appear to have a six speed. This guy was able to confirm the R&P ratio.

I feel like a dick now after stating how I'd buy from a MT vendor before new purchase elsewhere - that's because I've found a new one offered by another member here. Technically, I didn't buy it new, but it is new - just happened to be on the shelf for several years. I believe it to be the best of both worlds - saves me from current OEM pricing, but hopefully my 'seller' made some cash on the deal. Anyway, thanks to all who helped!
David - I believe you'd be better off just shipping the R&P then the whole assembly. Maybe you can sell the carrier in AU and pay the guy a handling fee?

Are you setting up your own diff? If not, maybe we can strike a deal with someone if we bring them two to do at the same time.
In a week or two I will have a 3.636 torsen up for sale in the classifieds. It will be just the pumpkin without the carrier. Let me know if you guys are interested and we can talk.
I learned this after looking at the shipping quote. Still waiting on the sellers response. At the end of the day I hope he is willing to pull the R&P and ship it. Otherwise I could be on the hook for $190 just to keep my ebay feedback good. i.e. buy the item and just let him keep it. I think it will be fine. I should get the R&P for about $300. Not cheap, but less than the OEM price at the moment.

I also have the speedo sender unit to suit this ratio.
