Thanks, You might as well list it up for sale. I'm going to buy the torsen setup mentioned above, but I think I'll still get the R&P shipped if I can get it here for $300. Then I'll just list it here for what I paid for it.

@ Hustler

You count the ring, then count the pinion, and divide the big ring by the little pinion and that gives you the final ratio.

Yes, I still have the R & P plus speedo sender unit for sale. Still trying to find a good option for shipping.

Cool. Where did you get it from? Just the R&P? Or a whole carrier?

I bought a complete but smashed 2003 MSM, and then stripped out the parts as required. The diff was a 3.63 with Torsen 2, and I stripped out the T2 centre and put it into my 4.1 open centre. So I have the entire assembly in pieces.

Are you sure it was a 3.636? I saw from your previous post that you were some where other than in the US based on your KM reading, but these are still fairly rare.

But I may be interested in purchasing your 3.63 set if they end up being for sale and you're sure they're right.

I am in Australia, and here the SE (what we called the MSM) came from the factory with 3.63 torsen 2 rear end. I have the torsen 2 and big brakes, sway bars etc on my NB, and am in the process of putting the MSM motor into my NA.

The 3.63 R & P is for sale. Definitely 3.63 : 1 ratio. 40 teeth ring gear, 11 on pinion. Shipping costs look like around $100 to the US.

Well I'm interested in purchasing them from you if the total sounds good. Was wondering though, you mentioned that you got them out of a 2003 SE. I'm familiar with the SE's, I just wasn't aware that they sold then in '03. And that sounds like a fun project for that NA

The 3.63 everyone is looking for was used in the non-USDM 6 speed NBs. Mazda recently raised the price on the OEM part significantly which is why all of the vendors that did (and some still do) sell them also raised their price. I've spoken to Miataroadster and Corksport personally about them and both stories were the same - huge price hike earlier this year. I bought mine for $399 shipped including the speedo sender 4 years ago but I'd like another for the track car... but not for twice what I paid for the first set.

Yea I was super shocked. It was at a junk yard in Idaho. They were going to send me the whole rear end but I asked nicely and they just sent the 3rd member. Search starts Monday for a shop to put this on my new OSG Diff.

How was your trip to Chatty?

I get my feel of wheel to wheel road racing with other cars. The Miata is where I get my AutoX fun. And the real fun isn't in parking lots. It at the National Tours. I really looking forward to my first Pro Solo this year.

To stay on topic, my 3.6 is currenty being installed, but I have bushings to install too
