As with all Xidas, the single damping adjustment affects both rebound and compression in a carefully staged, non-linear slope that is unique front and rear.
Touring 280/224 (5/4kg) Swift springs with helpers Race 616/392 (11/7kg) Swift springs with helpers. Race rear employ a triple spring set up.
Xida rear shock length is about 20mm shorter than OEM. That gives them about 23mm more wheel bump travel than OEM. So if you lower your car 20mm, you will still have the same bump travel as OEM. Achieving this target while retaining the damping profile, adjustment range and low NVH was largely why it took so darn long to get them ready for production.
Its eye opening to be able to drive around 1” below stock, hit a steep driveway at 20mph angled at 45°, catch a little air and not bottom the suspension or tires. And that’s on Touring springs. While we don’t recommend doing that, it’s one of the basic tests we do during development and is just a small corner of their performance envelope.

Another angle without the shock bag. The Race springs are a triple stack in rear. 392 lb main, high rate helper and zero rate tender "ZRT". Touring and Race front use our standard double spring with main and high rate helper.
All NC Xidas will have the front boot and rear sprig bag. By early 2022, the NA, NB , ND and 86 kits will also include a new neoprene sleeve we're working on.
These sleeves can be added to any 2.5 or 2.25" diameter coilover with 10 -12" spring length. Should have those ready in the next few months.
The orange ring on the bottom of the rears is the rear damping adjuster. No need to go into trunk. Easily reached from behind the rear wheel with a 4mm hex key.
I am currently deciding on this or a 7500DA with regressive valving, and Ed has been fantastic to talk to and has provided really good information. I'm just not really crazy about the lack pf travel on the Ohlins, and I do like to tinker.
You can build a fantastic set of NC shocks using Penske 7500DA hardware. The tricky part is getting all the dimensions, valving, spring stacks and mounts fully optimized. In our case, we spent the last 3 years testing, making prototypes and getting everything completely dialed.

I did buy the limiter pack, so I figured as much.

I’m trying to stay (quasi) legal for STR which have a maximum wheel and tire and don’t allow flares.
I’ll probably throw that out the window and do a 2.5 at some point, but…
At a rougher autox today the soft rates I am running get great, and I didn’t get much rub. But I definitely found the bump stops.
Prelim measurements look good. RX8 has a bunch more room for bump travel and width than NC. Shock dimensions are spot on but an RX8 fitment will require new, taller rear mounts. Pretty sure we can offer a kit with the same massive bump and droop travel as the NC kit, at maybe only $100 more.
First batch of batch of shocks arrives from Tractive probably this week. Mounts arrive end of November. ETD of 3rd week of December gives us a cushion. After working on these for so long, it's going to be weird to see a big pallett of them.
Pallet of NC Xidas landed today. Mounts arrive in about a week. Should be shipping on schedule.

Late change to the design. Originally 2.25" straight, then 2.5" barrels. Then 2.5" straight. The barrel springs solved one problem but cased new ones. We were able to come up with a better overall design, more durable with greater versatility with the 65mm diameter springs.
