Clicking noise after changing to slotted rotors and new pads
Hey guys, I just installed a new brakes on the front, yet to the do rears. The rotors were almost new RDA slotted rotors, had them machined before installation, brake pads are QFM HPX pads, they're a street performance pad.
Anyways, I bedded them in follow the procedure of speeding up to 60kph and braking medium/hard down 5kph on 1km intervals and repeating 10 times, then repeating the procedure of 500m intervals.
So the noise is a click click click sound which varies with speed, and I'm not too sure if its because of the rotors or because my pads haven't quite bedded in yet/takes more time to bed in..
I've also been told this is a common noise with slotted rotors, is this the case or will the noise go away?

Nah doesn't really make the noise when off the brakes, its really faint but more audible when turning out sharp corners or when applying the brakes.
I'm thinking about replacing the brake clips and springs but if they aren't the root cause, I don't really want to spend $50 buying some stupid clips

My experience is it won't go away, mine do the same thing after following a very similar bedding.
Look at the bright side, at least they don't scream like my friends EVO VIII brakes on light street duty, right?

So I pulled pulled the wheel off and swung the calliper outwards off the pads and they just went flying over the garage floor, so I collected all the bits and reinstalled them, and put the calliper back on and now its not making any noise at all. maybe it was one of the clips not sitting right or the springs not spreading the pads apart correctly, either way, I'm happy its gone
