is it possible to chage the resistance on the shifter gates?
I know some people do this on the audi s4. they remove a plug and a spring and replace it with a stiffer spring to make the shifter return to center more aggressive and makes it easier to shift fast and not miss a shift or money shift.
I have a 6 speed in the car now and I noticed several "plugs" that likely serve the same purpose. so If I knew which one was for the reverse I could add a stronger spring to make it more difficult to get into reverse. my car is a track car and I'm having a bit of a hard time with 5th and 6th so if the gate to reverse had more resistance all would be well.
any ideas? how is resistance on the gates controlled?
