Looking like a real interesting thread. Keep it up.

They won't with ATS 15x7's. Went down that road, had to trash the idea. It'd be interesting to see if they'd fit on 6UL's. If they did, I'd be tempted to dump the Wilwood setup in favor of these.

Yeah.. They would not fit with my 16" Volks either, or some crappy noname 17"s I had kicking around. They all hit the spokes.
Man I really hope I dont have that problem. |

just got home from work and the camara is dead. time to hunt for the charger then ill yank off the 1.8l shit so you can see how they dont hit. but if you look at the spokes you can get an idea of the amount of room these have.

yeah.. You might be okay as you have those funky wheels...

I really dont want to have to run +0 offset wheels to make it possible to run these. I would, however, consider a wheel spacer plus flares.

I saw earlier mentioned sport miata rotor, but is that the same thickness as the RX7 unit?

what rotor do you plan on running with this setup?
I saw earlier mentioned corrado rotor, but is that the same thickness as the RX7 unit? both 22mm thick according to racingbrake |

ok, and both of those are 22mm?
Hmmm... I am intrigued. i have a set of spare knuckles that im interested in trying. What about the back? im unfamiliar with rx7's what did they use in the back for an emergency brake? |

RX7 rear brakes, from what i've seen, look much like miata rear brakes but slightly larger. So they have the ebrake function unlike many aftermarket calipers. |

How thick do you guys think the caliper bracket should be? I'm pricing metal right now and not sure what to get.
.5" aluminum would be affordable but not sure if that's thick enough. I may just use steel to get everything roughed together and think about going with aluminum in the future if it proves to be a significant weight advantage. Would .25" steel cut it? |

try mcmaster.com ?
http://www.mcmaster.com/#steel-plates/=6rt9ka I will be doing custom brakes of some sort this summer.. I am liking this setup bigtime! |
Its not going to work. I'd have to space my wheels atleast 1/2", maybe even 5/8" from the rotors to fit these wide ass calipers. :(:(:(:(
/thread |
I still might try it this summer. I plan on doing bodywork / paint/ wheels anyway.. Id run some 16 x 9 wheels with a 25mm spacer and some flaresall around so i can have big ass brakes.
I just need to find wheels I actually like in 16" |
