If you have the skills, then I guess it would be great. I don't think this will end up being a cheap solution. I'm not trying to be a downer. I just don't want someone new to the hobby reading this, deciding it is the latest and greatest, and then getting in over their head.

Agreed, not for the faint of heart.... I want broken ones because 1. they are cheap 2. I have access to a toasted s2k trans at work that's just sitting there and 3. I just want them for mock up purposes. If any of this works out like any of us hope it will, I will go on to find good condition transmission to meld together. I do know the S2000 AP1 transmission is entirely different externally. You can't swap the center section, the tail shaft is different, as is the bellhousing. I assume internals are very similar. RX-8 Mk1 has identical internals to the AZ6 as confirmed from an outside source.

So, I'm not sure if any of it will swap, but who's any idea on the matter? I'm starting to look for some junked other brand transmissions to test it out, and also looking for first hand experience.
