Help with coilovers (spring length, rate for "stock" height)
Hey everyone, I'm not super mech/tech-savvy, and some answers or questions from posters may go over my head.. but here goes.
I’ve recently acquired a 2004 Miata. It has FM V-Maxx classic coilovers. The coilover springs it currently has seem to soft and bottom out. The rates shown in Flyin Miata’s page are 391 front and 258 back... but no specs on how tall they are.
Ideally I’d like to keep the setup as simple as possible. The car will be my daily driver.
I think I’ve settled on a rate of 400lbs front and 275lbs back after installing some old coilover springs I had laying around that are 10” and 8” respectively... but I’m not sure how tall they need to be in order to have the car around stock height..
Currently looking at possibly getting some Eibach or maybe Summit coilover springs.
Any help is greatly appreciated.. I hope the info provided is not too vague. Thanks!
