Default ID a Torsen from VIN??

There's a '96 coming up for salvage auction, but won't have a chance to determine if it's got a Torsen or not. The only thing to go on is the VIN which is JM1NA3530T0709619
Standard VIN search gets me 1.8L, Hiroshima plant Car#such and such... is there any more precise info I can get from the VIN? Any help will be much appreciated!!

Car pics don't show it has a spoiler, just the chrome/red miata badge on the rear.. it is a manual.

Call mazda. If the car has leather, just wing it. I've never seen a leather car without the LSD.

My STO had leather and no Torsen... not common but it happens.

Scouring the photos I have, it's a base black '96. Static antenna, no spoiler, unless there was black leather it has cloth seats. The manual hand crank is obscured by steering wheel if it's there. I'll bid if it goes cheap... I can use an open diff and put the extra 'savings' in a Giken... and have a spare trans. It all comes down to cost...

Thanks Gurus!

Here's the One Page Feature Table off of miata.net. You can use it to cross reference certain options to see if it has the Torsen. For instance, a 96 with map pockets on the door came with a Torsen. Very useful page to have at the junkyard. Of course, if you have the VIN, just call Mazda. Having called them 3-4 times, I've found different people are better than others at finding the info. I guess on different packages, the Torsen info is hidden on different pages on their computer screen so it can be hard for them to find sometimes.

Mazda can tell you what the car came with from the factory. If you live in Jersey chances are that the diff was swapped a couple times. I know a bunch of cars that should have torsen's but are riding around with open's.
