Default JO motorsports 5speed

Anyone using it at 300whp like its advertised for? Any issues with it? I've been having trouble finding a 6speed and I'm trying to find anything that can finally let me turn the boost up.

I ordered two 6 speeds shipped to my door from that UK parts seller that posts in the classifieds here. They showed up pretty quick too.

unfortunately I'm in the states. Everyone here in my immediate area is only selling 5speeds right now or trying to sell a 200k mile 6 speed for $2000.

Did you search? I feel like I was reading through a somewhat recent thread about someone using a built 5 speed successfully; I am not sure if it was the JO one, but someone on here is running one at that power level. Id keep looking for 6 speeds, even if you have to ship -- I grabbed one for $600 not too long ago in NY

yea willing to ship. And no I've not heard anything about JO or Walter the two that are building them. They've both been around for years now and there are people on here that have stated using them at those powerlevels but nothing about how long they lasted before melting at that power.

Arca is in AZ, the UK guy ships to the USA all the time from what I've seen.

Yeah like maplewood said I live in Arizona... you can see it to the left there under my username.

I paid less than $1400 for two of them shipped to my door if I remember correctly. Go poke around the classifieds.

If I could get a 5 speed that can take 300WHP, I'd toss my 6 speed. Ive gone through 2 (soon to be 3) 6 speeds and none shifted as nice as my 5 speed.

too bad you're pretty much on the other side of the country as me, i have a masochistic enjoyment of opening 6 speed gearboxes for repairs...

that's what I've been doing. I might have finally found one in MA that I can ship here. I'm just waiting to hear back on if it's still available.

Late to this post, but yes that person is me
Currently sitting at 300whp @ 19lbs

I've driven the car pretty damn hard, drifting, bang rev limiter in 5th, etc. I have no issues so far. Shifting is 10/10 I love this trans. I have never really babied it.

I'm actually going to buy a second one from JO soon just to have as a backup. Hopefully won't need it. But if I do manage to go through the two, then its time for BMW.

But if you still doubt his 5 speed strength, he does rebuild 6 speeds for the same price. He claims his 5 speeds are stronger then a stock 6 speed, and relatively the same strength between rebuilt 5, and 6 speed.

Just email/call him if you have more questions. He's pretty easy to talk to and will explain to you better than we can, on why his 5 speeds will last.

Overall I'm really happy with how its holding up. I'm pretty sure I would of grenaded multiple 5 speeds by now.
