Just bought some coilovers!
hey, if you havent heard of the Raceland coilovers, here they are: Raceland Full Coilover Kit for Mazda MX5 NA
comes with a two year warranty, and was only 272 shipped to my door. Blueroadster on cr.net has a review for them, also checked google and read other reviews by others with other products and didnt necessarily read anything bad. they seem to sell quality products. i will write a full review once i get them pic: http://www.racelandus.com/images/pro...arge/66_1_.jpg was it worth the money? |
People will say rice, but where else can you get a set of coilovers that cheap?
I would run them, but I wouldn't tell the wealthy people... |
Don't install them backwards.
|
You can upgrade the springs and add Koni inserts later.
|
i didnt really buy them for the sole purpose of tracking it weekly or anything. i dont visit the track often but i do drive my miata pretty hard down chicatawbut road once in a while. im just building a once in a while track car/daily driver. should be good for that right?
although i havent heard of them being any good for track use dustin, i did manage to snap two studs off my LGT from not torquing my lugs down, hopefully i wont make such a careless mistake this time around jacob300zx, thanks for the advice. |
driving pretty hard on the street ~= FTD on any track. Street cred bro, some have it, some don't.
|
im well aware. just asking if it will hold up to occasional street abuse let alone dedicated track abuse.

The valves will puke quickly and the car will never handle. The only reason I wouldn't buy them is because I'd just buy revalved bilsteins so I don't have to work on that part of the car ever again.

Burn :hustler: |
If someone proves they're shit (at being what they are, not anything they're never intended for of course) I'll never say a single word about them again. No one has yet. We're all sitting here with our thumbs up our asses proclaiming "if its cheap it must be garbage".

Im curious as well. I wouldnt ever buy them but I wonder how quickly the wear out.
Im sure we can all agree that they most likely have poor performance and likely will wear out somewhat quickly. But the question is how poor is the performance and how quickly do they wear out? haha. |

They lower the car. To whatever height you want. They are EXTREMELY comfortable around town on a daily driver for being coilovers. Ask me how I know:giggle: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t43340/ |
jacob300zx, do you know which springs will mate to these coilovers?? i just priced the koni inserts, will definitely do this once i start tracking it.

lol at ricers being butthurt b/c they can't rock the FCM or Koni with authority.
|
I bought these instead of buying oem replacements for pretty much the same cost, my frame rails scrape almost every speed bump in parking lots. I removed the helper spring and have about an inch before riding on bump stops and it rides way better than any car I have been in with coilovers. They're aren't as bouncy due to the soft springs but they're stiff enough to keep me from bottoming out while driving.
I'm riding on 15x7 195/50/15 toyo's. |
