Knuckle popping sound-what is it? How to fix it?

Not me. Lived in NY all my life. Rust is just a part of working on cars.

Never had one not pop with a good enough whack, though. I thought I was gonna bust off the knuckle on one once, but I just smacked it a couple more times and it eventually let go.

yea guys, not having any luck with hammering the knuckle.

Any other tips/tricks? Plus, I dont know if I could get that big of a hammer in such confined spaces... :(

like I said, pickle fork...Its even fun. Just put it on and whack it in. Easy as a hotdog down a hallway (but way more satisfying when finished).

You can rent it fo free from Autozone or just buy one from HF for like $10.

grow muscles. try to break it. apply light upward pressure with a jack on outer rod.

Bringo! Yea, had to go rent a pickle fork. Hammered that in, and still nothing, so then we hammered the top of the bolt, and viola!

Thanks guys. She drives a ton better. Now I wont be fearful of my dang wheel falling off while autocrossing. We'll see how long these NAPA ball joints work.
