How does one install a PPF out of alignment? Serious question, I'm doing one right now.

 

The alignment is vertical. You are supposed to jack the transmission to get things level before tightening. There's a specification in the field service manual relating the bottom of the PPF to the bottom of the frame rails. I'll see if I can find it.
