There is always the option of an angled extension like i got off ebay. Then your not stuck with the angle if it bugs you. Mine was sub $200 for the Simpson & extension and delrin bushing. Simpson unit also has a delrin fulcrum ball rather than metal.

I have the tall angled shifter from MR and it is significantly more crisp than stock. Although, I prefer a lighter shift knob on it rather than a heavy one; I had a 400g knob at the end of my shifter and it felt a little too vague. Overall the MR shifter was a good purchase and I would say it's a large improvement over stock.

Well, ****. I hope it's still an improvement over stock. Bbundy, would you happen to have a pic of the two side by side?

MR long Shifter is a nice change as the 6 speed in my msm has some nasty shifting. Compared to my household 350z, it still isn't on par before or after the MR shifter. You would need to have some serious shifter issues to justify the price which I did on this track car.

The Delrin bushing that comes with the kit sucks nuts, it feels great for about a month then it got stuck in the turret and I can't for the life of me get it out lol. A lot of guys from the other forum have had this problem too, apparently bill said he'd send out a revised replacement but that was like almost last year.
|
I had this problem also
I got the revised version soon after and that didnt fit either so im using the factory bushing at the moment and have a beatrush one on the way will let you guys know how that works out Either way the rest of it is still amazing |

My problem was the first one kept falling down the shifter turret and the second one wouldnt fit in the shifter turret so I just used my factory one its a little worn so I have ordered the beatrush shifter bushing hopefully that will arrive this week and I can give you guys some feedback
Along with pics of my new short console thats coming with the bushing |
The only reason I have kept my floppy OEM shifter instead of buying one of these (with extension) is they refuse to offer it without both upper and lower boots. That's $70 right there, and I already replaced those half a year ago. I understand the point of having backups, but hell, a torn shift boot wouldn't stop me from driving. I'd just wait for a replacement to come in then. Kinda poor marketing I think. Otherwise, these things are AMAZING. Had the pleasure of feeling one in a car at a local shop here.

Shorter throw AND easier effort? I don't think so buddy, shorter throw will require more force to shift it. |
I didn't make that claim. I have the taller one, so the effort is easier, but the throw doesn't feel any shorter.

In theory it doesn't need more force. It has a modified fulcrum point which givesore leverage. Think about it this way; what's easier to get a bolt off with? A ratchet? Or a ratchet with a jack handle on the end? That's essentially what it is.

I have had no issues with my MRSS. Vast improvement over stock. I have the tall, angled shifter. I'd like to drive one with the normal height shifter to compare; I think I might prefer the regular height one. But what I have is better than it was stock.

What transmission in your car? Late 6spd by chance? Heard conflicting reports as to whether or not the Beatrush works on the MSMs in particular.
