MiataRoadster Short Throw (MRSS)
#42
I have the shorty in the MSM and the tall/angled in the track car. Both are excellent. Both 6 speeds are MSM and the bushing can take a LONG time to get it. I've thought it wasn't fitting also but grease it up a bit and gently spin it around (like a Hustler rim job... ). It will eventually fall in the hole with almost no effort when its ready.

So... i bought the Delrin bushing separately because it was advertised as fitting the late 6 speed.
I don't really want the shifter at all. I did however, buy a full shifter rebuild kit from another vendor. Just wanted a better bushing than stock in there when i got around to it. Would prefer to use the bushing i already spent my cash on, but if it doesn't work right, then it doesn't work right.
Should i take this thread as confirmation that one of the metal units will work in the late 6spd?

I installed my normal height MR short shifter today and changed the transmission oil to Amsoil 75w90. The shifter feels great and I recommend it. I had problems with the 4-5 shift but that is gone now. I cant say I felt a difference from the tranny fluid but its good to know that that bit of maintenance is taken care of.
