Rent a 8" micrometer and do it yourself. I got quotes from 120-150ish here in Vancouver. So take like 40 off that because everythig here is expensive.

It's a pretty easy job, especially if you already have the pumpkin out.

Just ordered an OBX diff off ebay today for $299 shipped. Also got the bolt & spring kit linked here earlier (thanks guys!)

I've got full run of a machine shop and 3 years of FSAE toil behind me so the rework shouldn't be a problem. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Sweet, let us know if you find any areas that are not true in your unit. I already gave my machinist buddy a heads up on my next project and about dustinb's findings

I just beat the living **** out of my differential this morning and it's still holding strong. Lots of melted tire though.

Hmm I just got a price quote from the place I used to cryo/shotpeen/polish my r&p.

$4/lb , $16/piece :(

So I think that would be around $200 to do the planetary and middle gear? :(

I wouldnt' even bother., remember "lifetime warranty". If it breaks, they replace it and then I would cryo.

pfft... power steering...

Anyhow I ordered some bearings from rockauto and pulled it apart today. Looks pretty nice inside. No real flaws or unfinished edges so I may not bother with the glass beading.

Yah it's really quite a simple part. It doesn't have the galleys/etc that the FWD ones seem to have.

I am finishing up my diff. I will have it in the car for a hillclimb comp. I'm running on the 20-21st. I'll have some feedback after.

Only because I'm super ---- and have a U-blast place close by, I glass beaded it :P... sure it may have been un needed but w/e. Cost $13 to do.
