Default Which one ? FM V-Maxx XXtreme Stage 2 VS TEIN BASIS

the title is very descriptive in itself.
I'm currently shopping for a set of coilovers + sway bars for my NB and was wondering which I should take :

My first option would be the flyin miata FM V-Maxx XXtreme Stage 2 sport package kit found here :
Flyin' Miata : Chassis : Suspension components : FM V-Maxx XXtreme Stage 2 Sport package suspension kit

or Tein Basis coilovers with racing beat swaybars.
http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda.../61-1095B.html

I was wondering if these were good options to consider or if I was totally looking the wrong way.
I'm looking for an affordable set up which will provide me good handling, comfort isn't really one of my priorities.

I must add that I wish to track the car and occasionally drive it around, maybe not-so-daily drive it.

thanks a lot for your time!

I spent 16 months with approx 12 track days and 3,000 street miles on the vmaxx xxtreme adjustable coilovers. I have since removed them to drink the coolaid of the xida clubsports.

I would not recommend the vmaxx setup as they are too bouncy and have dampening that is not favorable. I was able to turn some decently fast laps with the vmaxx setup and the ride on the street is not bad but in comparison to xida they are obviously no match. The vmaxx were not confidence inspiring and on tracks with brutal bumps or substandard track surface condition they were down right scary (WSIR T2/T8, BRP 13CW Corners... all of them). Their lack of proper rebound dampening makes them very hard to deal with when you encounter significant bumps with the car not loaded evenly, IE braking, cornering... pretty much any bumps anywhere now that I think about it.

I would take a ebay sleeved billy setup or a tien basis setup over a vmaxx setup any day. After experiencing what a shock can be like with the xida... I can say that if the vmaxx xxtreme track pack is the benchmark for a 1,000 setup... the xida's should cost some where around 4k. The xida's on full soft with 700/400 ride twice as smooth, absorb bumps in ways hte vmaxx never dreamed of absorbing on full stiff. I've seen Emilio from 949 recommend the tien basis to those that can't afford to go big (800-1200) range. I'd trust his call on this one if it were me.

Dammit I want Xidas. Everyone who has run them says they are faster and smoother on the track than anything else they have tried.

I'm running Hard S Bilstein 550/350 and the shocks almost don't have enough damping for the front springs. My home track is rough and uneven.

The good kind of Bilstein. You'll probably be on your own, though. Nobody has ever done it.

I'll feed you.

xida clubsports are about 2200 bux. I was saying the same thing you were when i bought my vmaxx setup. I thought... I don't want to spend 2500 on suspension on a 5k car. Well... I just installed xida's last week after only a year on the vmaxx setup. If you can afford a grand you can afford to wait 3-6 more months and afford 2 grand.

That being said... I spent about 850 on the vmaxx setup and i sold it for 650. So that works out to about $16 dollars per track day for that setup. so not too bad.

I watched a few videos about how they absorb the suspensioning road so I'm pretty excited to try these out myself. This summer is gonna cool.

, also those spring rates are 7k+6k= 13k and my car and im guessing everyone's car in here has mazda 50/50 weight distribution so 13 divided by 2 (each half of the car) is roughly 6.5 which is right in the middle of 7 and 7 which should be a comfy ride but should also have a track'ish feel to it. I don't want someones oils blistiens, id rather have nice new parts.

OK !
When I asked what kind of bilsteins.. I wanted to know b6 or b8.
anyways, theyre all yellow right. must mean theyre good. (thats a joke btw)
SO, I decided to go with HD billies from advanced autosport, they gave me a decent deal with the 4 shocks, 4 coil over sleeves and 4 springs.
Now I was wondering if i coud modify the stock bushings to fit so I dont have to buy some fat cats or some ****.

spoon feed me moar.

Check concealer's post history, he just had a suspension thread that talked about bumpstops.

Your need for spoonfeeding is disappointing, but I am surprised you are actually taking peoples advice rather than ignoring it and arguing like most people who ask to be spoonfed do...

well ****, Ive been shopping around and researching for the past week for the best and most affordable set up for a trackdriven car. it pays off at some point. Tbh, I despise the idea of paying 230$ for a set of bumpstops and what not. I'll look up his history.
