Which one ? FM V-Maxx XXtreme Stage 2 VS TEIN BASIS
#57
Low budget entry level setup with some attempt made at optimizing for Miata usage vs another low budget entry level setup with no attempt made at optimizing for Miata usage.
But... the Teins are a pretty green, and then you don't have to tell someone that you run Vmaxx coilovers.

Person 1- I run FM Vmaxx
Person 2- Awesome man, I hear flying miata does awesome things and that is great suspension they worked closely with vmaxx to achieve
In the VW community:
Person 1- I run Vmaxx
Person 2- Dang brah, how much lowz did that get you?
They are nearly identical coils for each car with the only differance being FM worked with Vmaxx to optimize the damping for the miata.
Its funny how attached a name and your brand to it can completely change the perspective of the coilover for an entire community.
(I run FM Vmaxx xxxxxxxxxxxtreme track and enjoy them much more than the megan ez streets I had on my last miata)

I think what makes all the difference is that the crowd that buys FM's version doesn't usually drop them down to the lowest threads, but actually gives those things some room to actually do something. That + the spring rates that ACTUALLY take the car into consideration make quite the impact.
Mine felt pretty decent for the short time I had them as well.
