Does anyone have a picture of the bushing that goes under the top hat?

It is the same as the one on top. It seems like it is made of another bumpstop that was cut into slices.
It does work though. I do not like the fact that the real bumpstop is not held on top of the shockabsorber like the original parts do.
But the whole kit does the job.

 

Who cares if the bump stop sits on the shock or is glued to the mount. all the same.


But, yes, the FCM bushings are sliced up bumpstops...

Good question.
It bugs me because I use shock boots. When the bumpstop doesn't stay up, the shockboot is going down too.

Then again, sliced up bumpstops... It does do the trick.
I do not regret buying the kit. Might have made it cheaper myself, but I would have messed up once or twice. Ending up with more costs.
If I would do it all again, I would have purchased the full coilover kit from FCM. I have Koni's on the NA now, but all and all I spend about the same money I would have spent on the FCM kit. And I considder the Bilstein kit as better quality over the Koni's (but I don't know).

 

really? I had FCM bumps with boots on my konis and they stayed in place. I had secured them to the shock body and they would compress down as the shock went up.

 

They stay up.
But just do not do the job as the original ones. I do not mean the bumpstop in function, I mean: it is possible that the bumpstop plus boot is lowered a little and it would be possible that debris gets in the shock.
Now, this is just something to complain so it could get better.
As far as the function of the kit: it is really good.
I have Michelin Excalto's: quite stiff. New Energy suspension bushes, quite stiff. springs are too short so I have to bounce into the bumpstops now and then.
Still, the ride is smooth. The FCM kit filters all nasty bits out of the road and the bumpstops act as advertised: like a backup-spring, giving progressive suspension resistance. Plain good.
I did not listen to FCM though.. He said I should fit the stock springs as the Koni sport springs aren't good.
I did fit the Koni sportkit springs though and I hate them. They are way to short and the car has not enough suspension travel, even on the highest perch. Also the car bounces.
So I am going to remove the struts again and fit the stock springs.

 

Maybe I should glue them on the top of the shock with some kind of soft adhesive..
