Some of the NB spindle bearing had no rear seal. There is a thread here about that.

It’s confusing to explain without seeing everything in front of you. My 2002 is factory. It has no wheel
seals on the car. This 99 I’m working on did have whee seals.

Im assuming the seal should seal against the axle taper.

This picture is another 99 I have. It has 5k miles on new whee bearings and seals and the seal is seated on the taper.

Too many freakin differences and variables.
