Is it the same differenial housing in between open diff and Torsen LSD
I'm trying to swap a M-edition torsen LSD to my 97 Miata.
The problem is the Torsen LSD housing arm is broke.
What's should I do about that?
Should I just find a open diff housing and swap it over?
Thx many!

Last week I saw a 99 Torsen swapped into a 92 case - bolted right in no problems.
This is no kidding folks - it runs and drives perfectly. Full NA6 case/cover but 99 axles/driveshaft.

Savington, I saw it with my own eyes.
Torsen from a 99 10AE swapped into an early case. I will request pics of the unit - it is out of the car again (a Locost) while frame is painted. Steve Keene did the conversion and said there was NO modification to the case needed. Everything bolted up.

this is only image I have of the diff at the moment - came from Steve's site. NB front case and NA6 aluminum rear case.
His wife said he'd take another picture while the diff is out ~ it will be easy to identify the NA6 case.
No machining needed folks haha.
The car is very near Parts Group in Alabama.

Must have pushed really really hard.
Seriously, the ring gear will not even start to enter and if it did fit inside, the holes don't line up.
Perhaps the early Miata he took it out of had already been converted to a 1.8

-implicated by my own image...
It is a 7" case. See that web...
Dang. Saw the thing, heck I helped load it on the trailer he took to Alabama - and because he said it came from a '92 it registered as an older case to my brain. I have 3 smooth case '90 diffs and a Torsen in my garage and I didn't catch it.
Must be the junkyard had the year wrong or that '92 indeed had a 7" upgrade.
I'll go eat dirt now.
