Looks like a corresponding ding in the OD of the rotor. Like it was dropped or hit and it bulged the braking surface when the OD deformed inward. Weird.

I noticed that as well. The black e-coat on the OD of the rotor is fine, so it must have happened before the coating was applied? I certainly didn't drop or smack it hard enough to ding it like that.

I would file that little nub off, wire wheel it and put it back on.

Already threw a new rotor on that corner. For $25, its not worth the chance of more problems to me.

Coulda happened at the store, factory, or anywhere in between. I hope they let you exchange it
