Just wanted to update this for those interested.

The tires are ****. I'm very happy to say that they outperform any other tire I have had so far in the rain. No problems with traction, city or highway driving. I didn't really push them or anything, but I was finally able to drive the car without fear of spinning out.

And in dry conditions they feel excellent. Far better grip than any other tire I have tried. Now I just need a good set of winter tires in case I end up driving this thing throughout the winter.

okay, I just tried to order some R1R's today from performancetire but they are outta stock for another 6-8 weeks and they are one of the only people that carry it with free shipping that I could find.

No local store carries Toyo, and R1R's seem to be hard to get from the people that DO carry Toyo.

Can anyone recommend a good option for me? Maybe a tire that is around same price range and same performance/tread wear? Im not sure what tires are daily drivers that offer great performance.

Would the Kumho Ecsta MX be a decent substitute for the R1R if I cant get Toyo?
