Default Who has experience with one MMR engine mount and one comp mount?

Anyone with actual experience with it, please chime in here.

Wanting to know if you've had any issues with the PPF, which side you put which mount on, what the vibration was like, if any bolts got loose on your car over time.

Anyone with experience, please respond, thank you.

Lol, yeah big time.

There have been discussions on the mount thing(using two different ones) on Miata.net and believe it or not.....CR...*Gasp*

I'll see if I can pull up some links for you.

I did search Miata.net, and while there have been discussions there, no empirical data, which is what I'm after.

I don't know about clubricer though, if they have the tech... I'll be surprised. Unless it's just about hard parking "ya my engein totaly works w/ 1 of each."

So I asked for details in chat.

MMR on the driver's side, streetable. Hasn't been taken on track to test for durability.

Got more details, for anyone else's info:

He put 25,000 miles on the setup, about. No tracking.

In for empirical data.

That's the data I've gotten so far, I hear gospeed is running this too, I'll PM him to see if I can get more data.

What data do you need...

It works, and vibrates less than solid mounts but more than MS mounts. I would recommend that ladies should have nothing to do with solid mounts

I’m looking at doing this too. I have a set of MMR mounts and they appear to be about equivalent to a solid aluminum puck in terms of stiffness. I haven’t tried installing them yet but I’m pretty sure installing 2 of them would make stuff start vibrating loose on the car.

I have a set of engine mounts and diff mounts that I haven't installed...

I'm hardcore but full solid almost scares me. I've driven many FWD cars with full poly mounts and people complained about them but I loved them. So who knows...

I've run the MMR motormounts and have since gone with MS mounts. I have the diff mounts already, and that was enough for me.
If doing the hybrid setup - the consensus (even from some of the CR guys) is to have MMR mount on Pax side and MS on driver's side. Motor torques toward the Pax side which is why this has been so.

Yes, Savington had his PPF and subframe bolts start to vibrate loose after a while of MMR usage. Definitely scary.

Stuff falling off scares me. Important stuff.

The MMR would go on the driver's side, not the passenger's. The driver side mount is the one that fails.

Ask around for the folks who have had their MMRs melt on the driver's side.

V8 cars have the same issue. They just wrap it in foil.

Well, there's the proof. I had really questioned if they did indeed melt.
