Nah, I wish I had done mine that way and left the wiring harness alone.

Hey, that GM MAP sensor, do you think you could skip the harness and get some pin connectors to fit those sockets? Or maybe take the thing apart and solder right to it?

I dont see why you couldnt do it.

I think the trick way would be to find a small three pin connector male and female, then drill a hole through the yellow plastic connector on there now and solder the wires to the back of the yellow connector.

Or you could desolder the connector and solder in the wires.

I like the idea of drilling the hole, so that you can zip tie the wires before the hole to keep tension off of the soldered connection.

Ok, So I pulled the old computer out of the floorboard, in the passenger footwell and cut my finger... "the blood" of this project. The ECU sits with the connectors pointed to the floor. I want to mount my emanage in the glove box, so I made a hole with Jim's "15psi.com" hole cutter into the case of the ecu, after I had taken the guts out. Top right corner.

I set the new ecu in and marked the wires where I wanted extra electrical tape to keep everything insulated.



Ok wires on the right, find you partner on the left.... every body dosy doe....




I broke the wires into two groups the cutters and the splicers.... to go back to stock you can unplug the slicers and plug the splitters back into each other.

I also made a little legend for myself, once I sleep, things sometimes get foggy...

Drilled a hole in the braket and ZIP tied the wires to the bracket to keep everything secure....

Note that all of the "Cutters" are male/female connectors so that you could plug them into each other and make the circuit complete without the ecu. This also makes it more idiot proof when you go to install it in the car....

Of course you could always get the pre-wired Greddy solution for $165, which considering how long this took, might be a bargain. But I have learned a ton.

I think you should use a rubber groumet on that hole in the ECU case. Sooner or later it will rub the case off the wires and come back to haunt you. then all that work just to do it again!

I sanded the hole down with sandpaper to dull the edges and there is about 10-12 wraps of electrical tape around the wires in that spot. I also secured the wires on both sides of the hole, so there is very little room for movement. A rubber grommet would be ideal and I may add one later, but I am not really that concerned.
