I intend to run the 245/580/15 S80's on the 11's. On paper this may seem a bit wide for the tire but after seeing them mounted on 10's I feel they would benefit from more wheel.

The S80's spec out the same as the R6's but they look much different when mounted. I think the 10" wheel is perfect for the 245 DOT but the 245 slick looks like it needs more wheel.

I've been running the 10" wheels with a 5mm spacer so I am hoping the clearances are still good with the 11's and no spacer on the same tire. With spacer offsets are the same between 10's and 11's. Right now I am limited in the rear where the tire thread contacts the inner tub. I'll need to cut and re-tub if I ever want to try the A7's in a 275 size.

While it could me my inner CR coming out the decision was prompted by conversations with my shop neighbor at Sonoma Raceway that works on vintage formula 1 cars. I also ran it by Jeff Spears at Hoosier and they both agree it's worth pursuing.

How wide is too wide? Not sure but I'll find out if these slicks like the wider wheel.

You may be right. The pics I posted in this other thread are 245/580/15 R80's, definitely not much "stretch" to them.

Section width is pretty close to 11" on the 245/580/15 R100 when mounted on a 10" wheel. I feel it would benefit from more wheel. I could be wrong though.

Has anyone checked the R80 to the S80? I keep hearing that Hoosier went with wider molds on all the 245 and smaller tire sizes in the R7/A7 lineup. At least that seems to be true in the 17" & 18" diameters. I also know the spec 911 Porsche guys complain about fitting the new A7/R7 in the 245/15/15 size. All say it's much wider.

* Update...Heard back from Jeff spears at Hoosier. The new A7's-R7's are slightly wider and shorter. 9.0" vs 9.5" wide and 23" tall vs 22.8" tall. When I measured my 245 R6's I got a wider measurement than than 9.0" but I guess that depends on where you measure. Whatever the case it does sound like they created a new mold for the A7's-R7's in the 245 size.

15x11 in black arrived yesterday. Holy crap are they absurdly wide. I put one on the back of the car to gauge fitment. The stainless braided brake line on the stock rear calipers (on the m-tuned bracket for using larger rotors) rubs the barrel. I thought at least fitting the rears would be "easy".

Gorgeous wheels. The paint finish on the black is about 1,000,000x better than the finish on the TRM wheels that are on the car. The 15x11 claimed weight is 14.3lbs (didn't measure it), but that's lighter than the 9" wheels that will be coming off the car. Also, there's about 8ft of clearance between the brake caliper and the inside face of the spokes.

I'm a little upset that they have to live in their boxes for awhile.

LOOOOOOOOOOL

11's are stupid. What the hell.

15x11 retardedness - Album on Imgur

Definitely need a small spacer in the rear. Need to put the front end back together this weekend to figure out what I need up there. Also need to get a tire mounted to I can start cutting stuff up.

I got some 245/580/15 slicks mounted on my 11" wheels today. It's a bit too much for these tires. The ideal tire looks to be the 275 for these.

After looking closer at my current widebody with these mounted there is no way I can pull off the 275's on 11's. If I was starting from scratch I would have done a few things different. But hindsight as they say is 20/20.

Love the wheels though! Jealous of the guys that get to run em! I am gonna stay the course with my 245's on 10's.

I am gonna post the 11" tungstens for sale in the classifieds. I got 2 sets.

Yup, the offset of the 11's is intended to work up front. Maximum possible offset then add spacers to taste. You can't add offset but you can reduce it with spacers.

But yeah, when you seem them on an NA tub for the first time.. yikes!

I finally un-boxed one of my 15x10s last night. These are some awesome looking wheels! It seems almost shameful to cone rash these. I really wanted some 15x11s for the 275s, but I couldn't see taking the 100lb weight penalty in D-Prepared. I think I'm going to need a set of the 15x9s for my NB when I retire it from E-Street next year.

k24madness, what's your current widebody setup? Looks like "blister" fenders?

I got a Autokonnexion kit. The fronts clear fine. The rear is where I effed up. Instead of cutting the inner wheel tub and quarter panel like this http://www.awrracing.com/media/wide_...structions.pdf I just rolled and pounded the inner structure to fit then overlayed the new quarter over the old one. I panel bonded that in place. In hindsight I would have done a LOT things different if I'd known 11's and 275's were in the future. I should have done what the AWR guys did on their install. At the time there was no need to.

On the other hand I was quite pleased with myself on how the 245's fit on 10's under the current bodywork.

Thought I would throw this in here. I went to 949 yesterday to pick up some brake lines and Sonny and I decided to test fit the 15x11 w/ 275 Hoosiers on my NA with Autokonexion aero front fenders and rear flares. All I have to say is WOW!!! They are so meaty and the fitment is pretty spot on. Keep in mind this is with relatively mild camber settings of just over 2.5* front and just under 2.25* rear camber.

I'm about to get some 15x10's to run the new 245 VR-1 but now I need to pick up a set of 15x11's and 275's just because.

I have a set of 15x11 6ULs on the way. Because racecar.

Please ignore the TRM wheels in the photo. I use those for scrub/practice tires. I always have the go-fast set on the 6ULs.

Well this is how much a 10 sticks out on a stock miata body.

Looking good guys. I'll throw mine in the pot too, tungsten 10's for me as well. Will be a little while before I get tires mounted since the car is down for the drivetrain swap.

Just for comparison for you guys

245/40-15x9 +36

245/40-15x10 +25

Both photos the fenders are flat rolled, and then slightly pulled.
