NA Miata Clearance: 15x9 +45 225/45R15?
I'm custom ordering my wheels so I have the option of picking +45 or +35 ET.
I know people are successfully running 15x9 +36 ET 6UL and 15x9 +35 Advanti Storms with 225/45R15 with a roll and pull. I'd like to try to avoid pulling as much as possible, hence, would prefer to go with the 45 ET, trying to keep the body stock looking as possible. No Flares. No stance, this car is intended to grip and use it's suspension and tires properly,
However, I'm concerned about inner clearance and rubbing at full lock.
I think inner strut clearance will be okay with the extra 9mm from the pictures I've seen of people running 15x9 +36 6UL, but at this point I'm just guessing from internet pictures, can anyone confirm?
The coilover I will be using is Ohlins DFV, with the stock included springs.
The next concern is steering rub against the chassis at full lock/close to full lock. Will I have steering rub issues on the inside chassis with the +45?
Anyone running 15x9 +35/+36 with 225/45R15 have inner tire clearance issues at full lock?

i run 15x9 storms +36 on my NB, no roll needed. i know NA needs a roll, but i dont think fenders need to be pulled for 225 tires.
At full lock, the wheels contacts the shock lightly. so i dont think +45 would work very well.

It also depends though on the diameter of your shock setup, and that's probably the culprit. What suspension are you running?

Just saw in your sig. Doubt it, but have you ever measure the diameter of your coil overs? Do you find the +36 is affecting your steering travel due to rub?

I don't know how NA and NB inner clearance differs. I do know you can fit more tire on an NB with far less work. I'm surprise you are rubbing on an NB with 225 +36. I've read that people with NAs have zero rub with the same setup. I doubt NA has better inner clearance than an NB, if anything it might be worse on the NA, but most probably identical.
It also depends though on the diameter of your shock setup, and that's probably the culprit. What suspension are you running?

Here is what good win racing has to say about 15x9 +36 fitment
225/45: Tires fit NB fenders with no mods needed given 1.5 negative camber or better, fits NA with slightly rolled fenders and that negative camber
here is a word about rubbing at full lock:
Will NOT clear stock suspension, need coilovers with 2.5 inch diameter springs or narrower and expect may still rub at full lock (which is not a real issue since full lock is only possible at parking lot speeds).

Hmm, someone needs to chime in regarding NA vs NB inner wheel clearance. If it is, as I suspect, probably exactly the same, I probably won't be able to do +45.
Thanks for the offer on the wheels, but there's a particular set I've been fancying for some time now.
Does the NA have a different track in front and rear? Based on these pictures it almost looks so, but I'm guessing it's just a difference in the exterior fender/quarter.

Just did some quick googling, not sure if accurate, but according to Motor Trend rear track width is listed as 18mm wider than front. In that case, I can run +35 in the front and +45 in the rear to help tuck inside the quarter. Can balance out the front with some 1mm spacers if necessary, if such a thing even exists. Will prevent front track from being wider than rear but still screwing with the factory engineered difference of 18mm. Or better yet just run +45 all around with 10mm spacers up front, so I can still rotate my tires.
From the pictures though looks like the rear is protruding more than 9mm from the quarter, when compared with the fender up front. Is tire/wheel coverage not the same for quarter and fender?
