The car does see street time as well, and is currently on stock warped wheels with shitty tires. I can autox this setup but do not feel comfortable putting it on the track just yet. The RS3 is a proven tire with a good track record. First year out tires will be the least of yor worries. A friend of mine who had no track experience, put baller R compounds on for his first year. In the first 30 minutes of his first track day, he had some Really expensive tires with Really bad flat spots. Because learning to drive...

Absolutely agree with you, I want to wait for the RS4 to come out just due to its longevity, but the release date is too close to the track day for my comfort. I think I'm going to give the Nexen SUR4's a whirl for now.

Thanks for the advice guys.

What magazine issue will tell us if they're equal-ish or not?!

I don't even have a set yet. So you will likely hear from others long before anything would appear in GRM.

Well ****... I took your "bird in hand" wayyy to literal.

Here's to hoping they'll be almost as fast as a super200 and last just as long as the RS3v2!

Just got an email that my RS4's have shipped. No tracking for ETA yet, though. They are coming from NV.

Don't want to be the 2nd or third winner. Only the last.

Any initial impressions?

How do they smell?
Does the tread pattern look cool?
Taste good?

Is the rubber nice and stretchy? Any concerns about breakage during high friction situations?

Can we get durometer readings of RS4 vs. Maxxis trailer tire? I've been really happy with the wear rate of my Maxxis. Hoping the RS4 wears similarly.

Direct observation, controlled environment A/B data:

I walked out and dry humped the stack. Sonny said, "too late, I had firsties". So they tolerate sloppy second dry humping at least as well as Rival-S 1.5 225/45.

Anecdotally, durometer reading almost exactly the same as the tread on my new mountain bike shoes.

This information is much more relevant to my interests than anything in GRM.

Final winner makes me think of those dystopian movies where everyone is trying to win a lottery to go to some promised land, but in reality when they win they just get killed and their bodies recycled for food or organs.
