The Jongbloed Aero 500 is a high pressure forged wheel rated at 550 kg. It's built specifically for the Miata with a 54.1mm bore size and Miata-friendly offsets.

do you mean high pressure cast or actually forged one-piece?

edit: from the FM site theyre actually forged. Amazing, cheapest price I've seen for forged wheels.

Keith: I understand these haven't even been delivered yet, but has there been any testing done in regard to brake clearance? I would be nice to know what these do and do not clear before we all get crazy

Can FM ship 225 Rivals with the 15x9s?

I assume a bit of fender rolling needed on a '95 to fit the 15x9?

Heck of a price for a forged wheel.

They are "flow formed" which is a type of forging, yes.

After no interest from a "nobody" trying to set it up, I got in contact with Keith and Bill, and got Bill in contact with Ryan. I really like the tweaks they made to the design as well.

I believe they were designed with clearance for both the 11" and 11.75" brake kits. I'll confirm.

We can supply Rivals and other tires, but not mounted and balanced like our other wheel packages. They would be shipped from a different location. On a 15x8, you may not have to do any rolling on an NA - or very little at most. 15x9 would require rolling. I run a 225 R1R on a 15x8 on my 1990.

This isn't true. Theyre sufficiently different techniques that it's worth noting.

The Jongbloed site says "Jongbloed Wheels are hot forged on a press under 10 million pounds of pressure." which seems to indicate a traditional progressive-die forging method rather than flow-forming (unless I'm misunderstanding).

Keith, can you contact the manufacturer and clarify?

The most important thing? They're a very proven manufacturer and the load ratings are very good.

You have their description of how the wheels are made. I'll ask for clarification, but I'm more interested in the end result.

The weight of the wheels is a bit heavy for a forged wheel. I mean my volk te37 were only 10.6 pounds and 16x7. My 15x7 rpf1 are 10 pounds but not forged. There is a big price difference from the 2. I would expect a lighter wheel for 15x8 for that price. No offense. People want forged wheels because they are both light and strong.

Jongbloed Wheels are hot forged on a press under 10 million pounds of pressure. The massive heat and pressure yields a grain structure and metal compression rate within the wheel to make an ultra-strong, high-quality wheel.
Terms like “rotary forged” sound technical, but usually refer to a wheel made on a lighter weight press with offset tooling dies to yield a higher compression rate. Keith: How accurate are those renderings as far as the final product is concerned? Are they going to be concave like they are in the pics? Some wheels look great in lower offsets but not so much in higher offsets where the spokes and face flatten out.

Yes please confirm that the rendering is accurate, they are in my shopping cart right now.

This is my primary concern too, as my car is a street car and daddy like dish. If I knew the 15x9 would have the same concave shape as the render, except for 4 lug, I would be a lot more comfortable buying the wheel.

Is it better to paint a flat black or silver wheel?

It's better to paint flat black.
