$138 is the standard retail price for the 15x8. And if you buy tires at the same time, you get free mounting and balancing.

Are we still expecting these mid July? If so I will scrape up some money and order a set.

I confirmed today that we are airlifting some in mid-July. That's as tight as I can give for a schedule at the moment.

I haven't confirmed the numbers, but obviously the original group buy participants are the highest priority.

For those of you that have not moved on by now, FM just posted what looks to be actual wheel pics on their Facebook.

Any status update on these?
|
As of this morning they are atleast a couple weeks out. They were supposed to have been out on a boat this past Friday but it doesn't look like that happened
|
Do you know which sizes the pics above are?
|
I have no updates. I don't even have the info that unk577 does.
I think the above pics are 15x8s. |
It's what I was told by one of the other vendors for these wheels.
|
I just went ahead an pulled the trigger on a set. Nice thing about Flyin' Miata is they don't charge you until they have the product in hand. My turbo kit and my coil over suspension were $$$ up front and we will send it when we get it.

I really respect the way Flying Miata is handling the orders for wheels and not taking deposits. Jongbloed is notorious for taking 50% deposits and lying about delivery dates. It's not uncommon to have wheels take 3 times longer than promised. I am glad to see Flying Miata did not get dragged into that mess.

Although if you have ever dealt with a wheel manufacturer you would see that "they have their own" time schedule.

I'm empathetic to the vendors repping Jongbloed wheels ... you guys were left in an awkward position. Under promise, over deliver. -Zach |

They'd better be magical when they show up, I've personally lost patience with this whole debacle. I'm running Advantis on my own car (available from FM!) and we're now a 949 dealer as well. We still have all colors of 6ULs available - and of course, we won't take your money until they ship. |

It might be common; however, its bad business strategy as these wheels were supposed to be the alternative to 6ULs while Emilio retooled with another CM (contract manufacturer for ya'll not in development).

While Jongbloed is outsourcing the manufacture of these wheels and thus have less control over timelines they still have the same delivery issues with 3 piece forged wheels that are made in house. See a pattern here? In the past when I have seen this type of behavior it was the early signs of financial trouble. Taking deposits and using that money to pay for past due bills is the first sign of trouble. Go over to the Porsche forums and see how many people got hung out to dry when Fikse abruptly shut their doors. They were playing the same game up until the end. I sure hope FM does not get burned by Jongbloed. They have been a great vendor to work with. Once again I admire Keith for not dragging his customers through the ringer by taking deposits. |
