I completely ruined the finish on one of my gen1 6ULs this weekend, and nobody is answering my WTB ads for a replacement. What is the difference between the gen1 and gen2 wheels that would matter? Can I just buy one new wheel, or will it not match enough so people (including me or my car) would notice?

It takes trained eye and both wheels in hand to spot the differences but there were more than a dozen little tweaks to the Gen II compared to the Gen I.
Your car will probably explode. Would not recommend it, unless you enjoy fiery ---- torture.
I don't see there being a real issue as long as the offsets aren't drastically different.
edit: Oh wtf, come on.... a-nal is a banned word?!

I think I did a 1:40.x at Laguna Seca last year with 15x9 gen1s on the front and 15x9 gen2s on the back with nt01s. This was the session after some off-roading which put a giant bubble in the inside of the sidewall on one of the tires and driving around on 5 psi... They are pretty easy to spot if you know what your looking for.

One of my sets is mixed right now. Nickel Gen 1 and gen 2. The finish looks different and you can tell from 30 feet or so pretty easy. Do I care? No. I destroyed one when a bolt got picked up off the track somehow and wedged itself between the brake caliper and the rim and nearly sawed the thing in two. The other one I bent somehow and I don’t know when it happened.
