Fatigue is a failure mode you dont often see on wheels - usually its an impact that ruins wheels. They might be interested in seeing it or having it xrayed or something. Cant hurt to ask.

Please, a welded wheel is perfectly fine on the street. My best friend welds 20-30 a week in Corpus.

Funny. I heard 20 - 30 people die in a week in wheel related accidents in Corpus.
