I need some bends you need money lets make this **** happen looking for a couple of 90*s, trying to build downpipe for t3 60trim let me know what you have left over.

 

I bought two 2.5" mild steel J-Bends online for $30 each. I do not think it gets much better than that. I will see if I can find the company.

I have dealt with these guys before too.... fast shipping, etc.

I wasnt exactly pleased with the surface of the tube, but thats pretty standard for the price point.

 

What size outer diameter you think I should get for 3in?

 

I'm running a 3" pipe on my NB and i gotta say it rattles everywhere. Fit is...tough.

 

Whats the pipe thickness?

 

Thin cheap stuff. You know the little exhaust cuts from autozone that you can get? Same thickness.

Fit is very tough especially around the differential and that bottom pipe. We had to bang on the pipe and squish it a bit just to give it half an inch of flex room and still hits all the way around top and bottom.

 

Should I stay with a 3in or go 2.5in its going to be tough to spool that t3 60 trim?

 

I'd go with a 3" again however i'd do it my self with more care than the local exhaust shop.

 

U R doing it wrong. I have 3" through my subframe/diff and that's with a huge Ford 8.8" diff in there. Zero pipes were dented and zero contact anywhere.






^^^Would you look at the quality of those joints? Everything was cut with a harbor freight bandsaw, freehand.


There are five v-bands in the exhaust but it can be assembled without unbolting anything else from the car. The diff piece will fit through the subframe.

No doubt you could. A shop will never spend the time that you would. I have over 30 hours in building that exhaust.

 

A 3" exhaust will fit no problem in a miata.

If you wanted, a 3.5" would fit with the factory brace as well.

I probably spent 30 on mine. But my welding sucked as I was learning. I took my car to mandrelbendingsolutions that Sean mentioned in this thread and they redid some of my work. Pretty much from my front v-bands all the way back to the tip. Took them about 7 hours but they charged me 5.

It is very similar to yours except I'm running the CTS diff.

V bands after the cats before the Y-pipe, and one right next to the diff like you have. Makes dropping the whole thing a 5 minute affair.

 

this maybe a stupid question but what is od and radius of pipe how is it measured?

 

OD is the Outside Diameter of the pipe.

Radius is what the centerline radius would be. For instance, a 2" OD with a 6" radius would have a 5" inside radius (measured on the very inside of the bend) and a 7" outside radius (measured on the very outside of the bend).
