You're not wrong - you just never know what people have laying around - just putting it out there

The CRX ones are around $225, but Manley's are closer to $300

The ebay ones with the ARP bolts are proven winners. Would you rather have brand new ebay rods, or used manly? I takes the new.

If 225 is steep for you, you may want to re evaluate your complete future endeavor.

Not being a dick, just opening the curtains to bring in some light.

Sorry - where did you get that idea? Putting up an add, looking for "un-used" new/used rods isn't cheap - just trying to be wise with money. If I don't have to blow an extra $20, I won't.

BUT, I completely agree - rods is a vital part of the build - if I can't find any options on this (or other) forums, then I WILL but them new w/ the APR bolts - you're right on.

SO... you have a set of rods for sale?

I wish. I could use some cash to fund some new seat belts. Good luck though, there ha e been quite a few part outs lately.

If you do go ebay, just be sure to measure the small end bore. Inconsistent measures are pretty common.

I did a comparison with ebay rods and eagle rods yesterday.

Eagle is on the left. Significantly smaller and lighter. I will weigh them out tonight and get exact weight differences.

the 5/16" arp2000 bolt maxspeeding rods on ebay look to be lighter than the eagle rods I had.

Connecting Rod Rods for Mazda MX5 MX 5 Miata B6 BP 1 6 1 8 Conrods Arp Bolts MSR | eBay

I have a set of manley rods I can weigh for comparison if anyone is interested in the data.

edit: Manley rods are 534g
