Default Intake Manifold Brace for 1.6

I snapped the upper bolt off in mine doing the Head Gasket... so far the bolt is not coming out.

If you've got one, I want it.

you know I considered removing it.. is there a sound reason for it to be there or is it just the result of some super-paranoid engineer?

^That's what I thought. It wasn't even on tight, but it can't be hurting anything in there. I know it probably does make getting to the filter easier, but my hands fit in there just fine.

I might be purchasing an extra intake manifold complete with fuel rail and injectors here in town for cheap... maybe it will come with one.

Just curious, is there anything to be gained by doing any work on the manifold... extrude honing or porting?

A good gasket-match would go a long way methinks. With extrude-honing I'd do the head and IM together if it were mine.
