You just need to get a new axle there's no fixing that one. I would call planet miata or the guy hornet ball suggested

I'm not gonna lie I'm cheap about a lot of things I would run two different axles if I couldn't find one. Also you may be able to run 1.6 axles and stubs but I can't remember off hand I'll look later

The 1.6s don't interchange. 6" diff vs. 7" diff. That's why a Torsen swap should include driveshaft and axles.

Right. all 1.8 axles interchange though is what the consensus seems to be? The 1.6 axles on my car are scrap and will be tossed aside.

call 800-349-5850, LKQ in WI. they have both sides out of a 96 and are pretty cheap, shipping shouldn't be too bad since your neighbors.

I THINK they swapped to 1 piece in 96???

Literally 2 minutes after I pulled the trigger for the ebay shaft..... they have that one posted for 35 bucks.. are you kidding..

All 1.8 axles interchange except for the 04-05 MSM. Those axles have a different spline where they enter the diff.

Aside from that, the one-piece and two-piece axles are freely interchangeable and have the same overall dimensions.

Treasure coast Miata in Florida has them cheap...Assisi a side note its best to leave the axle on the hub when selling a Torsen swap that's what i have always done
