Default WTB: Any Mazdaspeed aftermarket downpipe or exhaust

Hi! New to the forum. Just got a lovely, 50k mile 2004 MSM. It’s slow and quiet - both those things have to change! But it’s been hard to find a system for sale.

I bought a racing beat muffler locally but it made almost no difference - looking for a mid pipe / downpipe that will fit the Mazdaspeed. Or an entire exhaust system and give up on the racing beat. I’m in Texas but happy to pay for shipping. Let me know what you’ve got!

This is your best bet as far as off the shelf option to get you an easy to buy muffler.

Thanks! I’m really hoping to find a downpipe and mid pipe combo like from FM but I didn’t think about then connecting a muffler - thank you!

The FM downpipe isn't a midpipe combo. It fits in the same location as the stock catted downpipe. The FM catback includes the midpipe, and bolts only to an MSM-specific downpipe (either stock or aftermarket).

I haven't seen that GWR part before, but that's a great solution for the MSM's otherwise unique... everything. The GWR part lets you use any standard NB exhaust, which really opens up your options and could reduce costs versus the super limited niche MSM stuff (really just the FM and Enthuza midpipe/muffler combos). Otherwise, like you've already found, your only option is to just bolt a muffler onto the stock midpipe.
