You guys and your 180 U bend before the muff. Aside from that, it looks to be the ideal turbo exhaust, but I suspect after a month of 400whp you'll be wishing for a 3.5 or 4" exhaust when you up the boost. Where'd your v-bands come from?

What else was i supposed to do?! Ha! i had to come out inbetween the diff and the lower control arm mount and then get up to that massive muffler. I saw your 90s into the muffler before i started but i wasnt able to get it to work with what i had.

cheap ebay ones for the V-bands. ~20$ a pop i believe.

I forget you went with differential overkill- less room. So your cheap ebay v-bands had proper inner diameter? I heard rumors of some choking on the diameters of chinese v-bands.

Yes. At least the ones i bought.. I was able to slip the 3" pipe in the bands and it was a nice snug fit. I have one set left so i figure i'll make a straight pipe that dumps right before the bumper if i'm feeling obnoxious. The only thing im going to have to watch is getting them lined up perfect. They aren't like those fancy Vibrant ones that have a tongue and groove. Should be able to get them close enough though.

Forgot to mention. I'm waiting on getting my wideband back from Innovate. I kept getting the error code "error 2" which is supposed to represent an open heater circuit. i checked my plug and my wiring and it was correct so they had me send it back for inspection. I'm guessing it'll be another week and i can try to start it up again. Staying productive in the meantime.

NRG goodies should be in the mail on Tuesday. Swiping that card hurt a lot worse than i had hoped. Hopefully it'll be a clean install and i'll be happy with it.

Meanwhile, staying productive. Hopefully this will help with the NVH some.

Good to know. I ordered another 10 sq feet for the doors and the back shelf. may as well get it done now while its apart.

Thanks Mouse. No joke, you and M2 were both a huge inspiration on this build.

The fe3T idea however was planted by Clubroadsters own "PYTHON" at the Deals Gap back in 2008. At the time he was preaching that i should use SDSEFI for engine management. Havent heard of anyone using it since.. Saved up for 3 years and got started.

More good news! I found a local via Google that says he's going to show me the ropes of Tunerstudio!

Get lucky much? OEM oil level check tube.

And i doubt this heat shield will hold up long but im giving it a chance to prove itself. Mightymouse. How is this stuff holding up on your car?

Oh snap that's lookin all sorts of good. And there really isn't much to tunerstudio. Read up in the MS section here, read up on DIYAutotune and you'll already know enough to set up a decent idle, cruise map, and start tuning boosted cells. That's whats so cool about TS: its relatively easy and user friendly.

I can't wait to see boost onset of this friggen setup. If soviet and 99mx5 are spooling super fast with plain ol BPs, this thing is going to feel like a v8 when properly tuned.

Discussion on wheel halfway down page 6
https://www.miataturbo.net/race-prep...e6/#post898370

Wheel is currently in the white car but will get installed in the FE3T as soon as its road worthy. I'm loving it so far!

Bad news from Innovate on the wideband. They still haven't looked at it yet and they aren't expecting to get to it till Thursday this week.. this puts me another week and a half before i can try to start it again. SUCKS!

I was surprised to receive a tracking number from Innovate today.. apparently they kicked it into high gear and got mine shipped back. Still waiting to hear if its a replacement or they fixed the issue. Should be on my doorstep Monday afternoon.

I finished Fat Matting the doors and used what was left on the rear tray. Judging by the way it sounded when i knocked on the doors, they will probably make the biggest difference.

I've been looking into different final drive options and it doesn't look too promising. I'm having a hard time finding different gears for the TII rear. A 3.9 looks tempting if i can get my hands on one. I expect to be spooling the turbo at 3K or less so i'd still be safe cruising on the highway at 70+ mph.

So stoked! Its been over a year since I've seen this car with its interior.

The only thing i have to finish wiring wise is the A/C relay and the signal to the ecu for A/C idle up enrichment.

The owner of Modern-Speed is supposed to be stopping by tomorrow morning to walk me through TunerStudio so hopefully we figure out what the issue is so i can get this thing on the road!

(Cant wait to grenade my EFR just so i can sit on my hands for just a "few months" )

:-o 3" is good for far far more than 400whp... Rob, what's happening man? :-)

I wish I'd seen this earlier, most of what I want to write is out of date now/too late.

One thing, though: Your engine mounts are very forward on the block. This means that you're bell housing is holding a LOT of load, a lot more than it normally would on a properly setup and/or OEM setup assembly where the engine is balanced naturally. They can and do break. It's not pretty. Beware.

Fred.

ITS FREAKIN RUNNING!!

Switched a few things around. Its now running in wasted spark mode but im down for this at least until i get the hang of the software.

The car is idling at about 1500 RPM. AFRs are very unstable. (gauge in the car doesn't seem to be working as it bounces between 8 and 10.2) cooling fan is kicking in as its supposed to and the electric water pump even kicked in after the car was off to cool the turbo! ITS SO AWESOME!

...BUT IT RUNS LIKE ----!
(.msl attached)

current goal is to continue to get AFRs stable and to get the idle down to the correct rpm. I'll try to post a vid before the night is over.
