Not a ton of stuff i can do until the car is on the ground, honestly. I can finish seats/harness install, do frame rails, frog arms, motor mounts, and install header, but not full exhaust. Sigh. Spindles and axles probably won't be here til friday or saturday.

Looks like i'm doing a roll bar install the day before i leave for MATG.

STAND BACK I'M DOING SCIENCE
20150714_200014 by concealer404, on Flickr

Installed. Have to put the fender back on the passenger side, no big deal. Broke both bottom fender bolts on passenger side, one on driver's side. Just going to ram up some sheet metal screws for now to keep it in place on the passenger side, driver's side is good enough with one bolt. Will fill my holes and go to rivnuts over winter, just don't have time to **** with it right now. (And don't have rivnut tools)

I'm torn on these. I wouldn't have paid full price for them. I'll give fitment a B-, and the supplied hardware a solid C. The washers supplied were too small and literally fit in the damn holes, and the bolts are some really cheap Grade 5 crap. Backing plates were cheesy and didn't fit well. I would have attributed the fitment issues to the car, but the same exact fitment issues were on both sides down to the millimeter.

I'm sure they'll work just fine, it's not like they're moving parts, but if i'm spending money on fender braces, i'm buying the GarageStar units next time.

Change the location of the jackstand while doing the install, that'll change the alignment of the holes. There is a reason we install these things.

Also, I tossed the provided hardware and bought baller stainless, no idea what grade.

So how much pine needles and **** was packed in behind the fenders?

Underneath the frame rails? To help keep the weight off the front clip?

Yes.

When I installed my Frog Arms the holes did not line up, so I moved the jack around to different points under the car until they DID line up. I think I ended up with the jackstands underneath the front subframe? Its been a while. Its probably not the right way to do it, but it worked

V8R makes a similar brace that yours truly is using. Good piece.

Honestly it was the boxed portion where you need the backing plate. No matter if i ignored everything else, that would not fit in the area it was supposed to go and get a clean hole drilled for the hex key bolt. Had to make do just sandwiching it as hard as i could. Which i suppose is all it's supposed to do, i just get irritated when i'm told to drill a hole that ends up just going through the end of something, turning into a notch instead.

Cliffs: Got the car running Monday night, aligned around midnite Tuesday. After about 50 miles of driving it figured it was good to go down to MATG and beat the **** out of it all weekend.

Got the brakes working Thursday morning.

Car is pretty cool, doesn't give a **** about anything and likes to run down MSMs and turbo cars.
