Hell to the no.

This Miata is MINE. Not going anywhere. If I have to sell one, it'll be the S2k. But I believe I'll keep them both.

My wife asked me yesterday if I planned to sell the S2k when the Miata is finished.

"Well, I don't necessarily plan to not sell it, but I don't really plan to sell it."

If I were to boost the S2k I'd probably go brotrex.

...but that's not really relevant. S2k isn't getting boost in the remotely forseeable future.

No it's actually a great resource and a lot of guys there know their stuff. I just mean that we're discussing S2k's here, why not discuss rotrex's too :P

ANYWAY...

Back to work.

I scheduled the tow to take the Miata to paint. It's on the ground and ready to roll. Should be done in two weeks or so.

Anyone down for a wrenching day on Sunday July 21? Would be installing the brake lines and ABS unit, starting on ABS wiring, installing the interior, Xidas, 6ULs, and drivetrain. Obviously probably not all in one day, but that's what would be on the list.

I can provide food, and I'll pay for beer (don't know what to buy but I can follow instructions).

On another note, I've decided that I don't want to put more power in the S2k. As it is, it's plenty fun, but I'm not tempted to race people on the street (cuz I know I'll lose against damn near anything). If I had power I'd feel tempted to race. I'll leave that for the occasions when i drive the Miata.

Don't do interior until you get everything working. Ok, clean and install carpet, but dash is REALLY REALLY nice to have out while wiring gauges, ecu, etc etc.

Good call. I'll leave it out.

You working that day?

As for ECU, I bought a partially assembled MS3 that Aidan is going to finish for me.

Sunday is July 19th. If you meant the 26th then yes I can do that. If you mean the 19th no I cannot. Curly, we should make a spreadsheet that has all the pins we need. What's in the stock harness and what we need to add. Im going to check eds ms3 for errors then build the patch harness.

You're right, I mean the 19th. I'll also be working on it Monday the 20th.

None of us will be able to work on it on Sunday July 26, because we're all going to be at Packwood autoxing

Will also be working on it Monday the 27th.

Made a bit of progress on stuff tonight, played with getting the driver seat set up.

Can I just say how much I completely passionately hate Sparco?

I'll post a YouTube video when it's done, but I'm having a helluva time figuring out how to mount the seats.

Important question:::

What type and size of HANS should I buy? I think I've narrowed it down to the Sport 2, 20-degree recline. Found it on eBay new for $400 shipped or best offer, so I can make a lower offer there.

What I'm not sure about is the size. I usually wear a size 15 collar which, go figure, is on the high end of the small range, and the low end of the large range.

If it makes any difference, my helmet is a RaceQuip small. Tried the Medium, it was too big.

I'm leaning towards the small, but would love some guidance. These things are sure spendy but I really want to get one before the Miata hits the track.
