I took measurements with my digital caliper, and the flat area is 10mm and the flange thickness is also 10mm, but to me it didnt seem like it would fit even if i drove them further in. i should be able to screw the studs deeper into the manifold and then it should work out ok.

I cant find a China GT2860, i found one seller who sells it, but they are out of stock.

two turbos i am currently considering:
TB28II ?? never heard of this model, but specs seem good to me, smallish turbo, should spool ok i think, for my 220-250HP goal.

or a GT2871R ball bearing, seems pretty cheap at $315 for ball bearing model.

i heard the China journal models are decent, but i have not seen any one review a ball bearing Churbo.

Don't worry man. With a custom turbo, this is just one small snafu. Many more to come. You will get it.

OK, ordered the smaller TB28II. i like mid range and quick spool way over top end power.

If i outgrow it, i am only $2-300 away from a bigger turbo.

here is a noob question,

so my FlowForce EV14 injectors came with a card that shows flow test cc rate for each injector, and 2ms pulse speed.

do i need to input this in MS2 Tunerstudio somewhere?

here is what i did:

1. install injectors
2. use change the injector size value in req fuel to 610cc, which gave me i believe a value of 5 something (cant remember exactly).
3. set dead time to 0.63ms and battery voltage correction to 0.116
4. started car, it died of lean condition after 3 seconds.
5. richened up VE table idle and it runs fine now.

thats it.

so do i input the 2ms pulse values somewhere? and exact cc flow for each injector?

Check other threads talking about those injectors - it seems the dead time should be closer to 1ms.

You input all the data required for them, but then you still need to re-tune your ve table, and your idle/low rpm cells will need the most amount of adjustment

i did all that.

my question is if i need to put the 2ms pulse time value that was provided on the card for each injector somewhere in tunerstudio?

I think its going to be a decent setup at the end, my most critical components are good quality parts (ms2e, ff ev14 injectors, fm downpipe/midpipe etc...)

ebay parts are cast taco manifold, turbo, intercooler, piping and hks ssqv BOV.

the taco manifold is heavy cast iron that has been used before by other members, and its not prone to breaking, and ebay china turbos seem pretty reliable as well, so i am not expecting to have issues.

now if i went with a "complete" cxracing kit, then i would be worried.

this particular mani hasnt' been used before.
and the prev one broke when tracked (but is/was fine on street cars it looks like)

overall though, I'd agree that this is probably about as good as an "ebay" build gets without spending more money

I think the eBay 1.6 tacoburrito that cracked did not have flange relief cuts, for whatever that's worth.

At least that's the only busted one I've seen, not that I looked too hard.

Now Abe is fabbing a superclone and will be able to make a replacement for when (not if) yours cracks in half

Isnt this one a 1.6L manifold? its totally different than the taco 1.8 manifold, so saying the 1.8 will crack because the completely different 1.6 cracked is not scientific.

It is more of both the 1.6 and 1.8 most likely come from the same foundry in China using cheaper cast metal. That is why we think the 1.8 may crack.

Same as the 1.6 and 1.8 shitty weld eld manifolds that are on eBay, both made in the same factory, both fail in the same ways.

it's even less scientific to be in denial of potential issues and assume things for no reason

im not assuming, im just closing my eyes and hoping for the best.

but holding this manifold in my hand, the metal is VERY thick everywhere, so i dont think it will crack, but only time will tell...
